Our country
South Africa's cultural diversity makes it a wonderfully enriching tourist destination, and one to which foreigners of all nations can relate. It is a country in the infancy of democracy, offering work opportunities across a variety of sectors and entrepreneurial ventures.
Permit requirements
Visitors to South Africa require a visitor's permit. Depending on the diplomatic relations between South Africa and other countries, the permit will either be issued at the port of entry or by prior arrangement through the nearest South African Embassy or Consulate.
Once a visitor has a permit, they have the option of extending this for a further 90 days while in the country. Should a visitor then have the opportunity of work, study, etc. they may change their permit status to the relevant permit required.
